Comfortable Bamboo Gloves for Eczema
Bamboo eczema gloves for adults are great for treating hand eczema, to prevent scratching, or as protection for contact dermatitis, psoriasis or other skin concerns.
These bamboo eczema gloves are recommended by the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association.
Why use bamboo gloves instead of cotton gloves for eczema?
While cotton gloves have been the common solution for hand eczema due to its breathability, it may not continue to stay comfortable, especially after washing. However, bamboo gloves will continue to provide a smooth and silky feeling even after numerous washes.
In Singapore, there are many cotton-based gloves which can be found in some pharmacy for dermatitis care, but most of them are not as comfortable. For sensitive skin and scratched eczema skin, the gloves may further cause irritation if it is not silky comfortable and cooling. Bamboo gloves are a good alternative to help eczema sufferers who have hand dermatitis or contact allergy.
Antibacterial / Antifungal
Bamboo fabric is composed of strong anti-microbial properties. It is believed to consist of 3 times more anti-bacterial qualities than cotton. Bamboo clothing’s natural anti-bacterial function differs greatly from that of man-made chemical anti-microbial fabrics, which often tend to cause skin problems.
Ideal for sensitive skin
Bamboo apparel is hypoallergenic. Bamboo fiber is smooth and round and its natural fiber properties make it non-irritating to the skin. Bamboo fiber is unbelievably soft and suitable even for babies.
Feels like silk
Wearing bamboo material has been described as a soft, luscious and sensual experience, like the feel of cashmere or silk. It has a very distinctive lustrous sheen. Bamboo is smooth and soft on the skin. The inherent quality of bamboo fiber (on a microscopic level bamboo fiber has a round surface) makes it a delightful tactile experience unlike other fibers.
Stays cool even after prolonged wearing
In hot temperatures, bamboo cools the body by three degrees. This is a very good property to ensure the skin does not get heated further by the heat that is trapped below the fabric.
Biodegradable
Just like cotton, bamboo gloves are made from plant-based material, and can be disposed of in an organic and environmentally friendly manner.
How to use bamboo gloves for hand eczema
For sleeping at night, you can apply moisturisers on your hands as usual, then wear the gloves over it.
For daytime, it can be worn under rubber gloves if needed (such as during dishwashing, or shampooing). This can reduce your exposure to latex.

When I first tried the gloves on, it took me a while to get used to them as they seemed snug. Before long, I hardly noticed that I was wearing them. They are more comfortable than cotton gloves I got elsewhere, and fit better at the wrist. Wearing these to sleep, they initially helped to reduce the damage done when I scratched subconsciously. However, over time, I noticed the next morning that they tend to come off at some point during the night. They could have been stretched out a little after prolonged use and become looser, or I could be unknowingly pulling them off in my sleep. A hole also appeared on the index finger of one glove, though I take care to wash them in a net. Based on the sizing guide, I got size M. I would try size S the next time.

I’m happy with my bamboo gloves. It’s more comfortable compared to my cotton gloves. In my case, I usually have M size for my gloves but in bamboo gloves L size fits me.
