We will be operating as usual during the circuit breaker

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that Singapore will implement tighter measures next week to slow the spread of COVID-19. This is now being referred to as Singapore’s “circuit breaker” against COVID-19.

This means that schools, shopping centres, offices and places of worship will close for 1 month from 7 April 2020. And there will be tighter restrictions on movement of people and gatherings.

Skinshare.sg is allowed to operate during the period, as “online retail” is in the list of allowable industries (see item 2).

On my part, I wanted to update you on how these measures will impact Skinshare, and what we are doing about it.

FIRST. Ensuring enough stock

We have been preparing for the possibility of restricted movement for a few weeks now. With the impact of COVID-19 to global supply chains (especially from Australia and US), we have been increasing our product stocks. This will ensure enough supply for everyone. This is especially important as the next 30 days can be stressful, and we want to do what we can to minimise your eczema flare-ups.

SECOND. Increase social distancing

We have decided to stop offering local pickup from our warehouse location in Katong for the time being, and only deliver via courier and SingPost SmartPac. This is to support social distancing, and encourage everyone stay at home to #flattenthecurve. But, if you need a product urgently, you can still buy eczema products urgently via 24-hour courier.

THIRD. Providing suitable hand sanitiser for sensitive skin

Everyone is saying to sanitise your hands when you are outside. But for many of us, this can trigger painful and itchy hand eczema. That’s why we have brought in stocks of a hand sanitiser containing emu oil, that is more gentle for sensitive skin.

FOURTH. Conducting more virtual skin consultations

You can always send me photos of your condition and I will suggest suitable products to help. Just visit Skinshare.sg and click on the “chat” button at the bottom of the screen.

These are some of the initial steps we are taking to help everyone get through this time.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments.

Stay safe, and let’s get through this together!
