Yin (Cooling) foods

Looked through numerous TCM sites and summarized here the food that occurs most often as cooling foods which can help cool down my body whenever i have to run errands under the sun.

I’m a strong believer in TCM as it has been around for the longest time. Plus, so far avoiding fruits like oranges and grapes when I have phlegm has worked for me to get rid of flu symptoms and heal naturally with minimal medication.

So when I had a bout of extra hot skin and itchy rash last week, I traced back on my day activity and realize that it was due to noon sun exposure for an hour and also eating spicy char kuey teow. Yup, being too ‘gung-ho’ just because i felt better.

Ok, so I thought, maybe i should start to incorporate more cooling foods ie. food that can cool down my body rather than heat it up and aggravate the rashes. We all crave for a chill icy drink when we are at the beach, don’t we?
